08.05.2026 @ 3:07pm Found some punk cover compilations
Today whilst browsing YouTube Music for something to listen to whilst I work, I found a collection of compilation albums entitled 'Punk Goes...' followed by 'Pop,' or 'Classic Rock,' etc. They are compilations of cover songs of that genre turned punk. Give 'em a flick through if you're a punk fan!
Favourite track: The various albums have some hits and some misses. So far the cover of Paint it Black performed by VersaEmerge is one of my favourites. Despite seeming kind of obscure, there are some pretty big names in these albums like Pierce the Veil and My Chemical Romance.

One of my favourite bands for a long time now has been Khruangbin. They have a uniquely chill style, always great after a long day of work or just to kick back with on the weekends.
Favourite track: This whole performance is a banger, but Dern Kalastarting at 4:12 would have to be my favourite. What an abolute bop.

Then there's my all-time favourite guitarist. Yngwie Malmsteen himself. Despite what some people say about him "not playing with feeling" or similar remarks, I find him intensely expressive and enjoyable to listen to.
What can I even say? Far Beyond the Sun is one of the main songs that defined shred guitar for all time, and this particular live performance of it may be the best of all.
I also wanted to throw in this live performance of his song Evil Eye, from when he was around nineteen years old and still with the band Alcatrazz. Saw this for the first time a couple years ago, and it single-handedly brought back my passion for guitar with an absolute vengeance.

Changing gears a bit, here is one of the world's greatest underground electronic artists (in my opinion).
Favourite track: Ken Tavrstarting at 3:10. Technically this performance is a preview of her full studio album 'Confession' which I highly recommend listening to in addition to this live mix.
